Carlton Byrd

President, Southwest Region Conference

Dr. Carlton P. Byrd serves as President of the Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, overseeing churches, schools, and workers across Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. A graduate of Oakwood University, Tennessee State University, and Andrews University, Dr. Byrd has 27 years of pastoral leadership. He has baptized over 22,000 people, led significant church and school renovations, and served on various denominational boards. As Speaker/Director of Breath of Life from 2010-2021, he helped baptize 20,000 people. Dr. Byrd has received multiple accolades, including the 2019 North American Division Lifetime Achievement Award for Evangelism. He is also an author and regular columnist for Message Magazine.
